All members of management in my division are gone to a retreat today, so earlier this week my coworkers and I decided to have a When-The-Cat’s-Away Fiesta for lunch. I was up at 5:30 this morning whipping up some refried beans, and also made homemade Spanish rice for the first time (it’s usually John’s thing, because I am afraid of cooking rice, but that is a story for another time) to contribute to the party. I taste-tested the rice before I left the house, and I have to say, it turned out pretty damn good for my first foray. I am excited to see our mega-spread, and hear what everyone thinks of my stuff. (I am such an old lady like that).
If you were here, I would totally let you sample the goods.
